. y& x# b: i0 q6 ]) A- b% fISO 10303 is an ISO standard for the computer-interpretable representation and exchange of industrial product data. Its official title is Industrial automation systems and integration - Product data representation and exchange, and it is also known as STEP or the Standard for the Exchange of Product model data. The standard's objective is to provide a mechanism that is capable of describing product data throughout the life cycle of a product, independent from any particular system. The nature of this description makes it suitable not only for neutral file exchange, but also as a basis for implementing and sharing product databases and archiving.

以上两段,就不翻了,应该都看得懂。简单说,这两个标准都是来自iso 10303,就是当初为了不同CAD(CAE,CNC)系统之间数据交换制定的,所以,他的目标是产品的整个life cycle,大概就是PDM那套。当初肯定是非常先进的,现在嘛,有点难说。

只是据说美国人用203的多,欧洲人用214的多。但203用的应该更广一些。
