Laskaridis Shipping of Greece has cancelled a handysize bulker at the South Korean yard.

Commercial director Yiannis Lagarias confirms Laskaridis cancelled the 34,000-dwt Nireas in May, when the ship was due for delivery.

: J: ^" M+ j* V* I) w7 q7 L" i# N( c7 iLagarias says the yard was behind schedule on the bulker, Hull No 1002, and 21st has since sold it on to other interests.

In the end, Cebi Denizcilik ve Ticaret of Turkey bought the ship for a reported $26m, renaming it Minanur Cebi 1, for slightly more than Laskaridis’s offer. Delivery is now set for July.

The second ship in the series, Hull No 1003, is due for delivery by early July.
