I  was walking down the street when I was accosted  by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking  homeless woman who asked me for a couple of  dollars for dinner.  
8 H" N% L) Q" D4 o$ z8 S当我正沿着街道行走的时候，我被一个看起来衣衫破旧、非常肮脏无家可归的女游民搭讪，她问我有没有一两块钱给她吃晚餐。I  took out my wallet, got out ten dollars and  asked, 'If I give you this money, will you buy  wine with it instead of dinner?'  我取出了我的皮夹，拿出了十元然后问，如果我给你这钱，你将会用它去买葡萄酒而非晚餐吗？
'No,  I had to stop drinking ! years a go', the homeless  woman told me.不，我必须停止喝！很久不喝了！, 无家的女人告诉我。
'Will  you use it to go shopping instead of buying  food?' I asked.你会用它去购物中心血拼而非买食物吗？我问。
" l* U0 y, y( R8 G$ L; T, Z$ B, K'No,  I don't waste time shopping,' the homeless woman  said. 'I need to spend all my time trying to  stay alive.'不，我不会浪费时间血拼，无家的女人说。我需要用所有精力在尝试维持生活。'Will  you spend this on a beauty salon instead of  food?' I asked.你会把它花在美容院而非食物吗？我问。
'Are  you NUTS!' replied the homeless woman. I haven't  had my hair done in 20  years!'你疯了吗！' 无家的女人回答。我已经20 年没有做过头发！
( f; X, ^, W$ P( Y  d'Well,  I said, 'I'm not going to give you the money.  Instead, I'm going to take you out for dinner  with my husband and me tonight..'很好，我说，那我不要给你钱。相反地，今晚我要带妳去，和我的丈夫一起吃晚餐。'
+ y2 @2 Y) H$ ~( d+ a: }) t( {( wThe  homeless Woman was shocked. 'Won't your husband  be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm  dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting.'  无家的女人感到异常吃惊。我知道，我是肮脏的，而且我可能闻起来相当令人厌恶。你的丈夫难道不会因为这样而对妳不满吗？
/ l/ D. D$ @3 N8 Y+ x: d* tI  said, 'That's okay. It's important for him to  see what a woman looks like after she has given  up shopping, hair appointments, and wine.'我说，那没关系。重要的是让他知道，当一个女人在她放弃购物、做头发和美酒之后，看起来会像什么。
