This book is designed as a handbook with some basic information on polymeric composite
fabrication. It is prepared by considering beginners as well as technical personnel already
( m4 d7 N  @) v- d2 f3 T8 j( S6 jworking in this area. For this reason, it contains basic principles as well as an up-todate
information on various aspects, including applications.
The book has seven chapters. Each of these were prepared by a group of experts from
different parts of the world. The first chapter, the introduction, gives some definitions
" N7 h6 j. r* Zand classifications with some depth on the matrices and reinforcements for all types of
' A: Q2 x2 m. E  O' rcomposite structures, including polymeric, metallic and ceramic matrix composites. More
" [+ t- ]+ u9 _: }detailed information about constituent materials (matrices and reinforcements) is provided
  ]) G% t+ H( i" ?in chapter 2. Different processing techniques of polymer composites are discussed in the
following chapters, briefly: open mould (in Chapter 3) and closed mould (matched die)
8 a  |7 l6 W, E% X* G$ ]processes, filament winding (Chapter 4) and pultrusion (Chapter 5). The book ends with
. M1 c4 `+ w5 _0 k/ {8 U* s8 Sthe machining and joining processes commonly used for polymer composite structures.
