This paper describes some recent developments of software tools for the optimizationof fuselage composite stiffened panels. The two most innovative features of theunderlying work are related to the evaluation of buckling and collapse reservefactors and the associated sensitivities, the latter being computed in theframework of both linear and nonlinear finite element analyses. Resultsobtained with an industrial test case are also presented to confirm thesuccessful integration of these tools in a powerful software environment.
