Commercial director Yiannis Lagarias confirms Laskaridis cancelled the 34,000-dwt Nireas in May, when the ship was due for delivery. ; \7 H6 T( L4 j

Lagarias says the yard was behind schedule on the bulker, Hull No 1002, and 21st has since sold it on to other interests. , T* g% ^6 x$ B: `+ @

Laskaridis booked the ship as part of a three-vessel series in 2008 for $36m each. # }! P. e0 Z7 t
