In January, Fuhrländer AG (Waigandshain) opened its new production location in Shenyang in the North-East of China and established “Fuhrländer Windpower Technology Shenyang“. The independent manufacturer takes another step to be present in the important Chinese market by having a sales office in Zhuchai in the South of China as well as by licensing its 1 MW turbine to its technology-partner in Baoding (close to Beijing), its 1.5 MW turbine to DHI in Dalian (Sinovel) and its 2.5 MW turbine to A-Power Generation Group. “Thereby, we have set the stage for the development and realisation of wind farms at different levels,” Joachim Fuhrländer (CEO of Fuhrländer AG) said. * {3 T% m# x/ ?' s' C5 Q5 GThe new plant is constructed in the same way like the Fuhrländer-production plant at the Siegerland Airport, in which the 1.5 MW and 2.5 MW turbines are being assembled to capacity since last year. About 400 invited guests were at the opening ceremony in Shenyang and – at 20° C below zero – representatives from the political and business communities took the opportunity to congratulate the German company. Among the congratulators were Li Yingiie (mayor of Shenyang – a city with eight million inhabitants), Chen Zhenggao (Gouverneur of the province Liaoning) and Lv Jinxiang (CEO of A-Power). Further, approximately 180 representatives of the supply industry of Shenyang got together to offer their products. Fuhrländer sees a necessity and an advantage of the location. “If we want to keep serving the Asian market, it is not enough to train people - we also have to produce in the country ourselves. This is needed to be competitive and to secure components for the world market,“ Joachim Fuhrländer said in his speech at the banquet the evening before the opening ceremony. Besides needed friendly relationships he emphasized the cultural opening and that it is essential that persons involved are open-minded. 6 p) }- X/ D1 m0 l3 r$ F  V Lv Jinxiang (CEO of A-Power) pointed out the trustful relationship towards Fuhrländer and explained further cooperation plans for the world market. The NASDAQ-listed company also manufactures the 2.5 MW turbine of the Fuhrländer group as a licensee for several Chinese provinces. They do this on the same premises of a total of 62,000 sqm. From now on, you will see the names of both companies – A-Power and Fuhrländer Shenyang – next to each other at the factory gate. Research and development will also take place at the location.
