Today is my first official day at XXX and it is good to finally be here. Since my appointment as XXX’s CEO was announced around 6 weeks ago, I have been looking forward to starting the job and immersing myself in all there is to know about the company. I have already met XX and the rest of the Executive Committee, and I am sincerely looking forward to working with everyone. The first few days in any new job tend to be very busy. I’m sure you all remember your first day at XXX, when you were keen to get started and had to juggle all the new elements of your job – from simple things like your journey to work and getting to know your way around, to doing the job you have been hired to do, meeting people, and understanding projects and priorities. It is no different for me. In my first 100 days I want to develop a deep understanding of the company. I already have a very full schedule for the coming weeks and I will meet as many customers and XXX colleagues as I can, in all parts of the world. This will allow me to better understand the company from both a customer and an employee perspective. I can already see that everyone is busy at XXX these days, including myself. I realize it is important for us to have a conversation. So over the next few weeks, I will also be finding a real way to communicate with you. One thing is clear – this year, everyone has done a fantastic job in bringing in the results and delivering to customers. We are in the enviable position that most of our markets remain robust, so let’s carry on and do our best to make this year another record year. I am sure all of you have high hopes for the leadership team and me. Working together with you, I want to meet these expectations, as I am as excited to see XXX grow and succeed as you are. XXX has a great reputation and brand. Employees past and present have done some truly great things, and I really look forward to doing some great things with you in the future. |
