Surlyn® 8920 thermoplastic resin is an advanced ethylene/methacrylic acid (E/MAA) copolymer, in which
8 e3 j: p& z& ythe MAA acid groups have been partially neutralized with sodium ions. The amount of MAA and. |% |' Z, x l5 ^! l( E8 R5 [
neutralization levels for this grade result in excellent abrasion resistance, clarity, and stiffness. The resin
" u! q9 u. u" S" Ican be injection or blow molded, and is processable by extrusion into sheets or shapes. It also can be used2 t8 U/ G" V. R R& D
as a nucleating agent for PET molding applications. The resin complies with the provisions of U.S. Food/ n; ]4 s7 R1 x0 }' H+ ^
and Drug Administration (FDA) Title 21 Code of Regulations 177:1330. Typical performance properties are7 v+ w7 w9 R* o) B( _
