在网上查了很久,有如下文章,供大家参考:
# A. V+ }2 m- r3 Y3 ]9 O5 {J-me
0 n) ~7 I$ y! r/ XHope I have not kept you too long in replying [know your urgency in servicing cutomers]
1 l( r8 y: c% ?6 p9 k[1]"Gauge" in this context means measurement of thickness.2 L* y5 J0 G7 q8 N* s$ z' h" p. k
Let me explain that "gauge" is a table whereby a given number takes the place of and is equivalent to a dimension. eg. in Standard Wire Gauge 20 gauge = 0.040mm" u% v  r' |! K8 q& S) n; h6 {9 A
There are differing "gauge" types for  various application. For example :
7 {6 P$ G' m  a. O. `8 m- Birmingham Gauge used to measure thickness of sheet steel
4 Y. S, o, A: b- O- Standard Wire Gauge [SWG] used to measure diameter of wire and thickness of aluminium sheets
& k4 s- x4 R# a. a% d$ Q# D' V- Screw Gauge   used to measure diameter of "self tapping" screw which sets a corresponding hole size to accept the screw in the material . 0 D8 D7 r! x! k; ]
5 }1 }6 f  `9 k6 q3 r' r! p
J-me, I do not know the gauge table used for your industry or your product.
3 S% ~+ J' I+ Y( l$ PMay I suggest :-
, _5 I$ ]( r0 `6 Y1 W2 g- ask your fellow managers for  information of the gauge table used for your products - in particular 80 gauge.8 [+ w7 l& M  c: X" Y
- alternatively  go back to your client and ask them to confirm the thickness x mm  Note: your client nominates thickness .003 [presume MM] for 1st item1 |# u  R0 \! R- B1 ?8 d+ k( ~

+ U! I: e) I# A+ P( ^" ~& y/ T4 J' ]8 l+ e
[2]"Machine Grade" sounds to me a specification [ I believe the tape  product has to suit machine application/possibly high speed/possibly high strain/stress]# p3 z& r/ x7 {/ O1 J
[ like in aluminium we have Bending Grade, Machining Grade, Bright Dip Finishing Grade etc]
. b4 Q) r: C. a0 Z    Suggest you seek from your managers, details of their interpretation of machining grade specification for your product  , then confirm with your client( Y* @1 M( d. H6 D5 p
    that this is compatible with their requirement.; }' q* ^# `1 m/ I% b* [% J# U

.
( A: S, J- l! q' MThis all takes a little time, but is is important to get it right and agreed , rather than risk supplying a non-complying product which may fail and cause inconvemience and dissatisfaction for your client. I am sure your client will appreciate you taking the trouble to ensure correct product is supplied .
( Y: D) A+ y; j1 D& qThis will build customer reliance on your company's product , build a good relationship and bring you repeat business., i' L7 W9 X! d9 ]& k* H1 {

I will be interested to hear how this is resolved.
