8.4 Classification
' S1 O {2 f: J) k/ n4 s' }The materials shall be classified HB, HB40 or HB75 (HB = horizontal burning) in accordance

8.4.1 A material classified HB shall conform to one of the following criteria:
8 t5 O/ F1 e5 h: w6 d: @a) it shall not visibly burn with a flame after the ignition source is removed;# E4 i6 `" p) `4 I% [% C
b) if the test specimens continue to burn with a flame after removal of the ignition source, the
9 E- w x5 G. a+ F5 Kflame front shall not pass the 100 mm mark;1 p& G* I$ f9 M) S6 c; f
c) if the flame front passes the 100 mm mark, it shall not have a linear burning rate exceeding
1 k1 ~4 c: H5 g% K) k40 mm/min for a thickness of 3,0 mm to 13,0 mm or a burning rate not exceeding8 F& J% X! `. _" G# c
75 mm/min for a thickness of less than 3,0 mm;
: x. a7 b8 V, _+ C, Ud) if the linear burning rate does not exceed 40 mm/min for tests with 3,0 mm ± 0,2 mm7 m7 a+ I& A y$ Q+ Q
thickness, it shall automatically be accepted down to a 1,5 mm minimum thickness.
6 ]6 `! ]( q! a# M4 B8.4.2 A material classified HB40 shall present one of the following criteria:. Z1 T3 g6 l. |! `
a) it shall not visibly burn with a flame after the ignition source is removed;

8.4.3 A material classified HB75 shall not have a linear burning rate exceeding 75 mm/min, if the flame front passes the 100 mm mark. |
