6 a* V/ A4 o( j( CI  was walking down the street when I was accosted  by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking  homeless woman who asked me for a couple of  dollars for dinner.  
当我正沿着街道行走的时候，我被一个看起来衣衫破旧、非常肮脏无家可归的女游民搭讪，她问我有没有一两块钱给她吃晚餐。I  took out my wallet, got out ten dollars and  asked, 'If I give you this money, will you buy  wine with it instead of dinner?'  我取出了我的皮夹，拿出了十元然后问，如果我给你这钱，你将会用它去买葡萄酒而非晚餐吗？
'No,  I had to stop drinking ! years a go', the homeless  woman told me.不，我必须停止喝！很久不喝了！, 无家的女人告诉我。
/ y; n- v& H& P6 E: F'Will  you use it to go shopping instead of buying  food?' I asked.你会用它去购物中心血拼而非买食物吗？我问。
1 S* ^9 b: f5 e3 u* ]'No,  I don't waste time shopping,' the homeless woman  said. 'I need to spend all my time trying to  stay alive.'不，我不会浪费时间血拼，无家的女人说。我需要用所有精力在尝试维持生活。'Will  you spend this on a beauty salon instead of  food?' I asked.你会把它花在美容院而非食物吗？我问。
'Are  you NUTS!' replied the homeless woman. I haven't  had my hair done in 20  years!'你疯了吗！' 无家的女人回答。我已经20 年没有做过头发！
'Well,  I said, 'I'm not going to give you the money.  Instead, I'm going to take you out for dinner  with my husband and me tonight..'很好，我说，那我不要给你钱。相反地，今晚我要带妳去，和我的丈夫一起吃晚餐。'
The  homeless Woman was shocked. 'Won't your husband  be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm  dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting.'  无家的女人感到异常吃惊。我知道，我是肮脏的，而且我可能闻起来相当令人厌恶。你的丈夫难道不会因为这样而对妳不满吗？
I  said, 'That's okay. It's important for him to  see what a woman looks like after she has given  up shopping, hair appointments, and wine.'我说，那没关系。重要的是让他知道，当一个女人在她放弃购物、做头发和美酒之后，看起来会像什么。
I  just know you're  laughing!
