The materials shall be classified HB, HB40 or HB75 (HB = horizontal burning) in accordance @6 f5 H# m0 U$ z" r) L2 \# h& W8 R. h
with the criteria given below.& Y1 [5 q6 R4 j" x k8 j7 V7 v0 O/ E
8.4.1 A material classified HB shall conform to one of the following criteria:
. }1 g, G! \7 m3 n* ?a) it shall not visibly burn with a flame after the ignition source is removed;' f2 u8 Q: Q1 |# O. Q
b) if the test specimens continue to burn with a flame after removal of the ignition source, the: T+ R% Y" ?2 I) o% p/ [& J
flame front shall not pass the 100 mm mark;5 ^* l: L2 y. g4 v4 ^! l4 [
c) if the flame front passes the 100 mm mark, it shall not have a linear burning rate exceeding; O% [: C1 C3 X: a
40 mm/min for a thickness of 3,0 mm to 13,0 mm or a burning rate not exceeding% q. w5 @) f* z$ S/ S
75 mm/min for a thickness of less than 3,0 mm;
; b& p% d3 N# v! `, Md) if the linear burning rate does not exceed 40 mm/min for tests with 3,0 mm ± 0,2 mm
6 [( ~* y1 T7 \3 b% ~& Wthickness, it shall automatically be accepted down to a 1,5 mm minimum thickness.3 ~! y7 B; V/ X
8.4.2 A material classified HB40 shall present one of the following criteria:; ?/ j0 M3 F) B# k" `: V0 \
a) it shall not visibly burn with a flame after the ignition source is removed;7 g! a6 I- N4 {% ?
