( {/ t; Z6 i2 _5 o9 D- X - U+ h; s% N8 _2 k The following procedure describes the steps required to convert a 3-dimensional I-DEAS modeling file to a DXF file format that is readable by AutoCAD and/or Corel Draw. DXF is an abbreviation for Data Exchange File and is used or recognized by virtually all CAD and drawing programs. The DXF file is not a 3 dimensional model file that contains the modeling information contained in I-DEAS file, but is a 2-dimensional view of the 3-dimensional part geometry. For example, the DXF file could be used to produce a 2-dimensional view of a part that can be read by MasterCAM for CNC machining operations or by Corel Draw for laser cutter processes. This procedure only produces a single view of the part.If multiple views of the part from different angles are desired, the following process must be modified.This procedure will work on both Windows NT and Unix versions of I-DEAS Masters Series 8.
