9 a* y3 ~; K  F# u2 NCommercial director Yiannis Lagarias confirms Laskaridis cancelled the 34,000-dwt Nireas in May, when the ship was due for delivery.

: K4 }- f1 ]8 @8 p( f9 dLagarias says the yard was behind schedule on the bulker, Hull No 1002, and 21st has since sold it on to other interests.

Laskaridis booked the ship as part of a three-vessel series in 2008 for $36m each.

Lagarias says the price was negotiated down to $29m per ship once it was clear there would be delays.

6 O, {; u$ f4 l8 Q4 ?( FIn the end, Cebi Denizcilik ve Ticaret of Turkey bought the ship for a reported $26m, renaming it Minanur Cebi 1, for slightly more than Laskaridis’s offer. Delivery is now set for July.
