Laskaridis Shipping of Greece has cancelled a handysize bulker at the South Korean yard.

Commercial director Yiannis Lagarias confirms Laskaridis cancelled the 34,000-dwt Nireas in May, when the ship was due for delivery.

) u8 L4 B6 B9 K* bLagarias says the yard was behind schedule on the bulker, Hull No 1002, and 21st has since sold it on to other interests.

Lagarias says the price was negotiated down to $29m per ship once it was clear there would be delays.

The second ship in the series, Hull No 1003, is due for delivery by early July.
