4 C! z5 V- `2 }9 Sfabrication. It is prepared by considering beginners as well as technical personnel already
( z. O" N) c# a) L2 [! Gworking in this area. For this reason, it contains basic principles as well as an up-todate; l$ x6 t! i2 `& f: z) ^
information on various aspects, including applications.9 d# `/ N" C& z( S
The book has seven chapters. Each of these were prepared by a group of experts from7 t: O* l$ |8 X9 P$ G, [5 x9 ~+ e
different parts of the world. The first chapter, the introduction, gives some definitions
' o+ S# f% u. b9 d6 n; j. r3 S0 D m2 Oand classifications with some depth on the matrices and reinforcements for all types of
, v' c2 S' j" I' ccomposite structures, including polymeric, metallic and ceramic matrix composites. More' d/ s( l- o5 k( ]% T- \/ c
detailed information about constituent materials (matrices and reinforcements) is provided& V0 R8 H5 ]0 r
in chapter 2. Different processing techniques of polymer composites are discussed in the S0 X8 s5 @; n& X& K \
following chapters, briefly: open mould (in Chapter 3) and closed mould (matched die)6 } @2 u( Q3 S4 z4 I
processes, filament winding (Chapter 4) and pultrusion (Chapter 5). The book ends with3 P( c7 G! U0 C6 \
the machining and joining processes commonly used for polymer composite structures.3 H& _4 W3 U: N h) G/ V& t
