Surlyn® 8920 thermoplastic resin is an advanced ethylene/methacrylic acid (E/MAA) copolymer, in which
" W" g8 f- t( h v* ? Hthe MAA acid groups have been partially neutralized with sodium ions. The amount of MAA and
1 T. k% {8 C; h2 W, U! |neutralization levels for this grade result in excellent abrasion resistance, clarity, and stiffness. The resin' v8 Y$ W# U- r8 t; p
can be injection or blow molded, and is processable by extrusion into sheets or shapes. It also can be used( B L' I. \9 O% b2 z) i
as a nucleating agent for PET molding applications. The resin complies with the provisions of U.S. Food
" K! G: o7 {4 D5 N. gand Drug Administration (FDA) Title 21 Code of Regulations 177:1330. Typical performance properties are( O* H5 ^! s$ O% i$ u, E# g& _
