8.4 Classification; ~* B/ o. c3 Z* l, J
The materials shall be classified HB, HB40 or HB75 (HB = horizontal burning) in accordance. t- L# n, M5 b/ J
with the criteria given below.# S6 u" o; H5 ^& l, o
8.4.1 A material classified HB shall conform to one of the following criteria:+ w; D% O, T9 r9 _" R: ~ @* u
a) it shall not visibly burn with a flame after the ignition source is removed;
6 T7 z4 X& L# j' L/ q. n8 F3 X9 k; u) }b) if the test specimens continue to burn with a flame after removal of the ignition source, the) h( `/ F" h+ @# U1 M6 A
flame front shall not pass the 100 mm mark;: Y3 m5 b$ J9 M% j$ S( p# y
c) if the flame front passes the 100 mm mark, it shall not have a linear burning rate exceeding. i8 H* j( W" l( r
40 mm/min for a thickness of 3,0 mm to 13,0 mm or a burning rate not exceeding
5 n! j% F& p. b7 e7 |$ i75 mm/min for a thickness of less than 3,0 mm;
% M( a4 f2 O0 Bd) if the linear burning rate does not exceed 40 mm/min for tests with 3,0 mm ± 0,2 mm: O) e- d( @$ |0 \9 e+ K) ^
thickness, it shall automatically be accepted down to a 1,5 mm minimum thickness.
5 W7 E4 Q n+ [8 w8.4.2 A material classified HB40 shall present one of the following criteria:8 n$ j0 r, s2 j! F8 `7 t

8 l) L2 r6 d' R( @ c4 A! T8.4.3 A material classified HB75 shall not have a linear burning rate exceeding 75 mm/min, if the flame front passes the 100 mm mark. |
